Check a seller and product reference
Compare business identity, establishment, exact model and recall notices before a purchase decision.
Prepare the task
Seller identity and product safety are separate checks. An identified business does not establish the authenticity of an advertisement or the absence of risk.
- Listing URL and seller name
- Product model, reference and batch if available
- Claimed business identifier, without banking details
Follow the method
- 1Connect the identities
Compare the site notices, proposed invoice and register. A name difference may need an explanation; do not automatically conclude fraud.
- 2Match the exact product
Record brand, model, reference and batch. Search for matching notices and read their criteria rather than relying on a similar image.
- 3Document discrepancies
Keep the URL, date and precise observation. Seek clarification through a verified channel; do not pay merely to resolve an alleged urgency.
The website name differs from the invoice name: check the legal notices and invoicing entity, then ask for an explanation before drawing a conclusion.
Choose the resource for the missing evidence
The directory records identify publishers and link to their official services. Choose by task; inclusion does not guarantee an outcome.
| Task | Resource | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Compare legal identity | Annuaire des Entreprises | Match legal unit and establishment. |
| Find a French recall notice | RappelConso | Compare reference, batch and affected period. |
| Explore a European alert | Safety Gate | Read the described product and risk. |
Keep a useful record

If a notice matches, read and follow its authority or professional instructions; this pathway alone does not assess individual risk.
Common questions
Does registration prove a seller is reliable?
Identification helps comparison; it does not guarantee the transaction.
Does finding no recall mean there is no risk?
No. A search depends on the reference, available information and date.
